What is LifeSutra Synthesis?

More than a journal — a research ecosystem

LifeSutra Synthesis publishes peer-reviewed scholarship, and also builds the connective infrastructure around it: the claims being studied, the methods used, the people doing the work, and the synthesis that follows.

  1. 01

    Research

Peer-reviewed studies across textual, field, experimental and computational methods.

  2. 02

    Knowledge

Traditional knowledge claims documented, described and made investigable.

  3. 03

    Methodology

Plural, pramāṇa-sensitive approaches matched to the nature of each claim.

  4. 04

    Researchers

Scholars working across disciplines, languages and regions.

  5. 05

    Institutions

Universities, archives, centres and policy bodies collaborating on shared infrastructure.

  6. 06

    Synthesis

Findings linked into threads so evidence accumulates instead of scattering.

The LifeSutra Synthesis knowledge model

Knowledge Claim → Evidence → Research → Synthesis

A knowledge claim carried by a text or a living practice can be documented on its own terms, then examined against the forms of evidence that are actually appropriate to it — and connected to the studies that already speak to it.

Explore IKS Knowledge
  1. 01

    Knowledge Claim

A statement drawn from a text, a lineage or a living practice, recorded precisely and with its source.

  2. 02

    Evidence

Textual, historical, empirical or experimental material that can support, qualify or contest the claim.

  3. 03

    Research

A study designed around the claim, with a method appropriate to the kind of evidence available.

  4. 04

    Synthesis

Related studies read together, so that the state of the question becomes visible.

Research methodology

"Method should respond to the nature of the knowledge claim."

LifeSutra Synthesis does not propose a single universal methodology. It works with a plural, pramāṇa-sensitive approach: a textual claim, a historical claim and a clinical claim call for different evidence and different designs. What is asked of every study is that the reasoning behind the chosen method is stated openly.

Explore Methodology
  • Evidence before assertion

Every knowledge claim is classified and matched to an evidence standard before it enters review. Tradition is a source, not a substitute for argument.

  • Transparent translation

Technical vocabulary carries interpretive weight. Authors document each rendering decision so readers can reconstruct the reasoning.

  • Comparative but not derivative

Indian frameworks are examined on their own terms first, then placed in comparison — never validated only by resemblance to modern categories.

  • Open by default

Abstracts, metadata and review summaries are public. Data is deposited wherever custodianship agreements permit.
